The Danish Centre for Particle Therapy (DCPT) started the first proton beam radiotherapy treatments in January 2019. At the nearby oncology department of Aarhus University Hospital, a 3D cinema is available for radiotherapy simulation for staff training and educational purposes. Since implementing proton therapy in Denmark, researchers and clinicians found that a solution for simulating proton treatments could be a helpful tool to share knowledge about the complex treatment. Read the full story on how this initiated the collaboration on the Proton VERT solution, and how the DCPT has developed the use of Proton VERT as a key tool for patient communication when explaining treatment steps to young patients and their families.
